San Jose, California – 20-year-old man was arrested for the violent sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl right behind a church in San Jose.
The crime happened in an Eastside neighborhood, as stated by the San Jose Police Department. Officers are investigating the incident, and they are certainly taking it very seriously. After all, this is a horrendous act. No one in San Jose wants this violent perpetrator out on their streets.
The suspect named Esteban Mosqueda lured the 17-year-old girl to a secluded area on Sunday, at about 6:30 p.m. We do not yet know at this time how this happened. However, we do know that it led to a violent and horrible situation.
Violent Assault Occurred Behind Church
As San Jose Police reported, 20-year-old man identified as Esteban Mosqueda violently assaulted a teenage girl. This happened at the location 2700 block of South King Road, at the Liberty Baptist Church.
Esteban Mosqueda was charged with the assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and sexual battery. Detectives with SJPDS’s Covert Response Unit took Mosqueda into custody. They then sent him to Santa Clara jail.
There is no information available about the victim’s physical condition after the assault. We hope that she is recovering well and is in no danger.
Police Chief Eddie Garcia said the detectives have done an amazing work by using the police instincts to identify the violent predator and take them off the streets.
San Jose Police Department’s Sexual Assault Investigation Unit ask anyone with information about the suspect or the victim to contact detective Beth Stenger. Stenger is conducting the investigation, and will likely be a large part of the prosecution’s case against Mosqueda. Any information that you send Stenger’s way will go towards putting this violent offender behind bars for a very long time.
