San Jose – the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash on northbound 101 Freeway on Saturday near Story Road was identified by the Office of Santa Clara County Coroner. He was 59-year-old Edward Rodriguez.
According to California Highway Patrol Edward Rodriguez was driving north on 101 when he rode across irregular surface dirt in order to join to the transition slope to Interstate 280/680. Rodriguez then lost his control and was ejected from the motorcycle. His body skidded across the highway before eventually coming to a stop on the road.
Motorcyclist Died at the Hospital After the Crash
According to the CHP Rodriguez was transported to a hospital, where he was recognized dead. It is to be noted that no other automobiles were engaged in the crash. Therefore, what could have been a worse tragedy is at least somewhat avoided. It also made the cleanup from the accident go by much quicker.
Motorcycle crashes are always violent and often result in deaths. However, that doesn’t mean that this crash isn’t a tragic occurrence. Mr. Rodriguez is likely leaving behind friends, family, and other loved ones. We hope that they are able to find peace in this difficult time for them.
